We are pleased to announce the plush JW Marriott Sahar Airport Mumbai as the venue for the CONFERENCE

Obesity clinics globally are increasingly adopting the multidisciplinary approach and this conference intends to highlight the same. We will have allied health professionals in a bigger way in our 3 day meeting. To this end, there will be sessions on holistic approach to obesity associated diseases such as diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis, infertility, GERD and liver diseases. This is apart from the demonstration of skilled surgeries, sessions on procedure selection, complications, talks on weight regain and revisions.

Moreover, we will showcase the use of registry, robotics, artificial intelligence and medical apps that will redefine bariatric practice in future

Our younger colleagues- Young OSSI - will also get a great platform to showcase their stellar work.

No surprise therefore that we are naming the theme of the conference as Bariatrics 2.0 !

On behalf of OSSI and the organising committee of OSSICON 2023 , I would like to welcome you to Mumbai for the upcoming OSSICON 2023.

Unlike other years , this OSSICON has been specifically planned not just for OSSI members or for practising bariatric surgeons, but for post graduates and other laparoscopic surgeons who are still wondering what bariatric surgery is , or should one be ever doing it.

Bariatric Surgery is one of the most rapidly growing specialities in the country with tremendous growth opportunities. With bariatric surgery now evolving to a treatment modality for medical diseases like type 2 diabetes , non-alcoholic fatty lover disease , obstructive sleep apnea , PCOD etc , the possibilities are abundant.

OSSI , over the years has grown stronger and stronger and is one of the most dynamic surgical societies in the country today. With our own journal(JBS) , own virtual academy , fellowship program(FMBS) , registry etc we have one of the most academic/inclusive society today.

I urge every surgeon/to-be surgeons to make attempts to understand where bariatric surgery is today and what its possibly be going to be in the future.And no better place than OSSICON 2023 and the organising team are taking tremendous efforts to make it an event to remember for long.
